The Kansas Highway Patrol said a driver was killed Monday afternoon when her car went out of control and crashed in Sumner County.

The crash was reported around 3:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 81 about a mile and a half west of South Haven.   Troopers said an SUV was traveling south on the highway when it went off the road and into a ditch. The car went back on the road, overcorrected and then rolled into the ditch, landing on its top.

The driver, 74-year-old Diana Jean Cassady of Caldwell, was pronounced dead at the scene.
