UPDATE: A 20-year-old Wichita man is facing charges after a standoff late Sunday at a west side home.
Police were sent to a home in the 7000 block of West Freeman around 5:20 p.m. on a report of a domestic violence with a weapon. An armed person was inside the home making threats and a SWAT team was sent to the home.
Police were telling residents in the area near Central and Ridge Road to stay in their homes until further notice.
The man walked out of the home around 8 p.m. and was taken into custody. He was booked into jail on four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of criminal threat and a charge of battery. Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
