The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said a Marion man shot and killed himself while law enforcement officers were conducting a search at his home.
Marion County deputies and Marion police officers executed a search warrant at a home in Marion around 10:30 Monday morning. The search was related to a felony investigation. While the search was underway, 65-year-old Charles Park reached for a shotgun that was hidden inside the house, and he then shot himself in front of the officers. Park was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers fired their weapons during the incident, and no officers were injured.
The KBI is investigating. No other information has been released.
