An unidentified man was taken to a hospital after an apartment fire in central Wichita.
The fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Matthewson Court, in a neighborhood west of the intersection of Central and Hydraulic.
EMS crews took a man around 50 years of age to the hospital with critical smoke inhalation and serious burns.
The fire was brought under control within a few minutes and the cause is under investigation.
