Several intersections are blocked after a train fire in Hutchinson this morning.
The train involved cannot be moved and is blocking traffic along tracks from Lorraine to 6th Street, on the east side of the Kennedy Freeway.
A fire reportedly started in the train’s lead engine, which was extinguished before fire crews arrived. Oil was leaking from the engine after the fire, and railroad officials are working to clean up the remaining oil and moves the cars that were attached to the damaged engine.
According to the Hutchinson Fire Department, it will be a while before the train can be moved.
There are no reports of injury from the fire.
