An American Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in Wichita Thursday evening because of a problem with its left engine.
The Boeing 737-800 was on a flight from Phoenix to Chicago when the problem developed. The plane landed safely at Eisenhower National Airport around 8:30 p.m. and the passengers spent the night at a nearby hotel.
