Ascension Via Christi St. Francis has implemented temporary visitor restrictions in its fifth-floor Pediatrics unit and third-floor Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to prevent potential spread of RSV and other viral respiratory infections.

Effective immediately:

  • Two family caregivers may remain with their child 24 hours a day.
  • Additionally, one family member or visitor 18 years or older per day may visit between 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Hospital president Joy Scott says that the two points of access to the secure Pediatrics unit will be reduced to one in order to provide an extra layer of security.

Parents and visitors entering the fifth-floor Pediatrics unit now must:

  • Use the entrance north of Elevator C to access the secure unit
  • Sign in at the nurses station upon entering and exiting.
