Former Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid has been sentenced to three years in prison for a drunk driving crash that happened near Arrowhead Stadium last year.

Reid was sentenced Tuesday afternoon in a courtroom in Jackson County, Missouri, and he was taken into custody after the hearing.

Reid, the son of Chiefs coach Andy Reid, pleaded guilty in September in an agreement with prosecutors on a charge of driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

Reid was driving a pickup from Arrowhead Stadium in February, 2021 when he hit two parked vehicles on a ramp along Interstate 435.  The crash left a 5-year-old girl, Ariel Young, with a traumatic brain injury.
