The Kansas Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a school bus in the city of Clay Center early Tuesday.
The accident was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of 6th and Lincoln. Troopers said 69-year-old Harold Mugler of Clay Center was in a crosswalk walking south across Lincoln when he was hit by an eastbound bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the 71-year-old driver of the school bus did not see Mugler in the crosswalk. No students were on the bus at the time.
