New charges have been filed against a former Sedgwick County detention deputy who is already accused of helping smuggle contraband items into the jail.

Two female inmates reported sexual relations with 22-year-old Dustin Burnett of Maize, and Burnett was formally charged Thursday with four counts of unlawful sexual relations and one count of solicitation to commit unlawful sexual relations.   His bond on the new charges was set at $150,000.

Burnett is already charged with two counts of official misconduct.   Sheriff Jeff Easter said Burnett saw inmates cutting a hole in a window to smuggle items into the jail, and he did not stop it or report it.   The discovery of the security breach led to a massive search of the jail on July 17th.

Burnett is scheduled for another court appearance on August 1st.
