Sedgwick County has officially named interim EMS Director Kevin Lanterman as the new director.
Lanterman has served as interim since August of 2021. The county conducted a nationwide search and collected input from EMS employees and then decided to retain Lanterman in the position. He has served with EMS for 30 years, working as a shift commander and as an interim deputy director of operations.
Lanterman was named as the interim director after the resignation of Dr. John Gallagher, who stepped down in July, 2021 as concerns were being raised about staff morale and resignations.
