Crime Stoppers of Wichita-Sedgwick County needs help finding a suspect who stole a gun from a vehicle’s glovebox on April 5th.

The victim believed the vehicle was locked, but there was no damage to the doors or windows.

The suspect was witnessed getting into the vehicle. He was wearing an orange backpack and was then seen entering a business before crossing Lincoln and walking South on Christine. Surveillance footage below.

Wichita Police are reminding citizens not to leave firearms unattended in vehicles, as there has been an increase in firearm thefts of this nature. According to the WPD, 89 guns have been stolen from vehicles so far this year. At this time last year, the number of stolen guns was 76.
