A weekend house fire left one person dead in Greenwood County.
Crews found a home fully involved in flames Saturday night when they were called to 106 East Randolph Street in Virgil. One person got out of the home through a second-story window but another person was still inside. Flames kept crews from getting into the home and a body was found after the fire was put out. The name of the victim has not been released.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire. An electrical appliance is believed to be the cause, but the investigative work is continuing.
