Firefighters were battling a two-alarm fire in a building in south Wichita Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Oliver, in a building that had been boarded up. Crews reported heavy smoke and then flames coming from a doorway.
Crews ended up leaving the building to fight the fire from a defensive position. They had to set up a perimeter because of the danger of a chimney collapsing.
There were no reports of any injuries.
