A Wichita man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash in late September.
40-year-old Jose Rios-Cruz, Jr made his first appearance Friday in Sedgwick County District Court. His bond was set at $500,000 and his next court hearing was scheduled for November 22nd.
Rios-Cruz was arrested September 25th after a crash on K-254 east of Kechi. Sedgwick County deputies said Rios-Cruz was driving a pickup the wrong way in the eastbound lanes around 2:45 a.m. and he collided with a car driven by 19-year-old Clayton Patterson of Caldwell. Patterson was killed in the crash.
