Sedgwick County vaccination rate rises, case rate dips

Despite improving COVID numbers, Sedgwick County has slipped in the statewide rankings, falling from 27th to 32nd.

Latest numbers from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment put the county’s vaccination rate at 55%, and county data shows about 94 new COVID cases a day on average. KDHE data is showing 134 cases a day on average. Gaps in data between the state and county are normal because of differences in how and when numbers are gathered.

Looking at all of the state’s counties, Graham is still ranked 1st, with a vaccination rate of 77%, and case rate of less than 1 a day.

Butler County is ranked 36th, with a vaccination rate of 50%. Reno County is showing a vaccination rate of 53%, and is ranked 16th. Harvey County is ranked 30th, Sumner at 74th, and Kingman at 51st.
