The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed and three others were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening north of Haysville.
The crash was reported around 6:15 p.m. at 63rd Street South and Seneca. Deputies said a pickup had a green light through the intersection and an eastbound car went into the path of the truck. The car was hit on the driver’s side, and the driver, 38-year-old Clenea Meairs of Wichita, later died from her injuries.
Two girls in the car, ages 8 and 16, had minor injuries and they were released to a family member at the scene. A 17-year-old boy in the car was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.
The pickup driver, a man from Newkirk, Oklahoma, was not hurt.
The crash is still under investigation.
