A Sedgwick County jury has found a Wichita woman guilty of first degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old son.
The jury deliberated about two hours before returning the verdict for 25-year-old Kimberly Compass. She was charged in the death of her son Zayden Jaynesahkluah, who was found dead in May, 2019 at a south Wichita motel. An autopsy found that he died of methadone poisoning.
Compass did not take the stand during her trial. A judge has scheduled sentencing for August 12th.
