Gov. Kelly announces the Pfizer vaccine is now available to Kansans age 12 & up

Governor Kelly announced on Wednesday that the Pfizer vaccine is now available to Kansans aged 12 and older.

Kelly said she was confident that opening up vaccinations to younger residents is the right move.

This comes after a vote of the CDC’s Advisory Committee and subsequent approval by the CDC Director, along with emergency use authorization by the FDA.

Kansas Department of Health and Environment Secretary, Dr. Lee Norman, added his approval saying it was an incredible step forward in the fight against COVID-19.

Providers in Kansas can now open up their vaccine supply to those 12 and up. Anyone under 18 will need to provide written parental consent in order to be vaccinated.
