Wichita Police Investigating 2 Overnight Shootings

Wichita Police received a call of a possible drive-by shooting around 3 a.m. early Sunday morning in area of Jewell and Seneca.  Several people had called 911, reporting hearing gunshots as well as several vehicles leaving the area.

Officers found additional evidence of a shooting in the 2000 block of South Seneca and began to investigate.

Around 4 a.m., two victims from the shooting at Jewell and Seneca arrived at an area hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds–a 37 year old man and a 25 year old female. They victims arrived in separate vehicles, each containing multiple passengers.

Officers reportedly attempted to talk with the occupants of each vehicle, when two of them became uncooperative and got physical with police. Two women, ages 25 and 18, were arrested as a result for Simple Battery of a Law Enforcement Officers.

Meanwhile, the investigation at the original shooting call in the 2000 block of South Seneca revealed that the individuals were at an after hours club when someone opened fire on them as they were leaving.
