Ascension Via Christi Caregivers Travel to Michigan to Provide COVID-19 Aid

Seven Ascension Via Christi nurses traveled to Detroit, Michigan to help their Ascension colleagues at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last April. One year later, on Sunday, Via Christi’s Wichita and Pittsburg hospitals once again deployed frontline caregivers back to Michigan to assist.

The number of COVID-19 infected patients there has reached critical levels.

The twelve who departed for the state of Michigan on Sunday (Six from Wichita, and six from Pittsburg) included nurses, nurse techs, and respiratory therapists–all of whom volunteered for temporary duty.

They are being sent to Ascension hospitals in Detroit, Kalamazoo, Warren, Rochester, Grand Blanc, Novi, and Southfield.
