The Wichita Police Department and DEA are working to host a drug disposal event this weekend.
On Saturday, April 24, expired or unwanted medicine can be brought to either the Patrol East station, 350 S. Edgemoor, or Patrol West, at 661 N. Elder. Drop-off runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No questions will be asked about what you’re dropping off. Liquid medicines and needles cannot be accepted.
These drug return programs are aimed at keeping prescription medications out of the hands of kids, or people who may abuse the drugs, especially painkillers. In situations where a drug disposal program is not available, the FDA says there are options for disposing of medicine at home.
