Wichita police arrested a 62-year-old man for aggravated battery after a confrontation with two teenage intruders late Friday night.
Police said a 19-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy went to a hospital with hand and body injuries, apparently from pellets fired from a shotgun. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Police said the teens had entered the Treatco plant property in the 2300 block of North Broadway and they were approached by the property owner, who was carrying a shotgun. Several shots were fired and the teens were hit. Police talked with the property owner and he was then arrested and a shotgun was recovered.
Information on the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for a decision on the filing of charges.
