Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and Rep. Ron Estes passed their Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection Act in the Senate on Tuesday.
The legislation will create a public/private partnership between the federal government and aviation manufacturers in order to protect the aviation manufacturing industry, workforce and supply chain negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moran said the bill was passed as a provision to the 2021 Budget Reconciliation and would help prevent further layoffs and furloughs, and ensure employees remain on the job and are fully compensated for their work.
