Sedgwick County lowers age for COVID vaccines

Sedgwick County is now taking COVID vaccine appointments for people 70 and older. The age cutoff has been lowered from 75.

Vaccination appointments can be made online by clicking here, or by calling 316-660-1029. The phone line is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

The county’s vaccine clinic will be open February 12-13, then February 15-20 at INTRUST Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman.  The drive-thru vaccine clinic, at 777 E. Waterman is only open to residents aged 70 and older with mobility difficulties.

When going to your vaccine appointment, you’re asked to show up no more than 15 minutes early, and be aware than wait times could be from 60-90 minutes based on staffing.

To support increased vaccination rate, some county staff are being diverted from COVID testing to vaccinations, making testing options from the county more limited. Starting February, the county will only be offering tests at the walk-in clinic at the 4-H building, at 21st and Ridge. Testing hours will be 8:30 to noon.
