Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said Thursday he is investigating after the Sheriff’s Office received complaints about a Facebook post.
The post was made Wednesday by a Sheriff’s Office employee. No details were released on the post, but Easter said he was made aware of the post and the Sheriff’s Office received a number of complaints on Facebook and by phone.
Easter said he will investigate the post in accordance with Sheriff’s Office policies. He said employees are also individuals and have their own opinions and they have the same protections as private citizens. He said he will look at the facts and determine if those individual rights conflict with policies of his office, and he will consider the most appropriate response.
