Sedgwick County’s new walk-in COVID testing site will reopen on Monday, but will only be open a few days next week because of New Year’s.
The county moved away from the drive-up site in east Wichita, and now operates a walk-in clinic in the 4-H building at 21st and Ridge. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week, you can show up and get a free test anytime between 8:30 to 11:30, and 12:30 to 4 p.m. These test only show you if you currently have the virus, and results should be back to you within three days.
After the holidays, the clinic should be open each weekday using the same schedule. Tests will continue to be available regardless of symptoms.
As of noon on December 24, the Sedgwick County Health Department does not appear to have any upcoming mobile testing sites scheduled.
