41-year-old Travis Smith, of Newton, is identified as the man killed in a crash northern Sedgwick County.
The crash was reported around 3:15 p.m. Monday, in the southbound lanes of I-135 between 101st and 85th Streets North. There was moderate to heavy snow falling at the time but it’s unclear if the crash was weather-related.
A Kansas Highway Patrol crash report says Smith was driving north when he lost control and went into oncoming traffic, hitting a van head-on. Two people in the van were hurt but are expected to recover.
