The state of Kansas is reporting an increase of 5,000 COVID-19 cases since Monday. The state is now reporting a total of 162,446 cases in all 105 counties. There have been 1,679 deaths, an increase of 119 from Monday.
Sedgwick County reported a total of 24,272 cases for the pandemic. There have been 172 deaths, an increase of 22 from the previous report, and county health officials said the increase was the result of new data from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The deaths were reported from April to November.
The county has tested over 199,634 people for the coronavirus, with a positive testing rate of 20.2 percent.
