Two injured in Thanksgiving Day shootings in Wichita

Police are investigating two separate afternoon shootings that happened on Thanksgiving Day in Wichita.   Both were the result of arguments.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of North Ash around 3:15 p.m. on a report of a shooting at a home.  They found a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound, and he was treated and released from a hospital.   Police said he was involved in a domestic dispute with a 48-year-old woman, and the argument turned physical.  The woman is accused of shooting the man during that disturbance, and she was booked into jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  The man was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and a misdemeanor warrant.

The other shooting was reported around 4:55 p.m. in the 600 block of North Estelle.  Officers found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound, and they found that he was one of several adults who tried to break up a disturbance involving several juveniles.    Someone confronted the 30-year-old man later and shot him.  He was in serious condition at a hospital.   There’s no word on arrests.
