The association governing high school sports in Kansas has voted to stay with the planned schedule for basketball, wrestling, swimming and other activities.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association voted Tuesday to approve a calendar allowing winter sports to begin on December 1st, resuming on January 1st after the winter break.

No spectators will be allowed at any of the events from December 1st through January 28th.  Limited numbers of spectators will be allowed from January 29th through the end of the winter season.

The proposal approved by the KSHSAA board will reduce high school basketball to 13 games for the season, wrestling will have 12 events,  bowling will be limited to 8 matches, swimming and diving will be limited to 6 per athlete.   Teams will be allowed to practice until December 22nd, then a moratorium on practices will be in effect from December 23rd to January 3rd.

Middle school activities will follow the same plan as the high schools.
