UPDATE: Wichita’s Board of Education voted unanimously to extend the Thanksgiving break for 2020.

All schools will be out November 23 to 27, adding Monday and Tuesday to the days staff will have off. A half day will be made up later in the year.

Wichita’s Board of Education is considering extending Thanksgiving break.

The board is holding a special meeting at noon today, November 16, to look a proposed amendment to the school calendar. Currently, school will be out November 25, 26, and 27, giving students a three day break. Staff are recommending that schools be closed all of next week to provide an extended break, as COVID cases continue to rise.
