The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has reported that 6,282 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Kansas since Wednesday.

This new record was announced Friday, with the state now seeing 115,507 cases of the virus since the pandemic began.

41 deaths were also reported since Wednesday, with the state total now at 1,256.

Sedgwick County was reporting a total of 16,872 cases on Friday, an increase of 457 from Thursday.   The county’s death count remains at 137.   The positive percentage rate for testing is at 23.3 percent.
