Oklahoma man sentenced for 2018 crime spree in Wichita

An Oklahoma man has been sentenced to almost 9 years in prison for a series of crimes that happened in Wichita two years ago.

A judge handed down the sentence for 28-year-old Taylor Kremer of Bartlesville with three years of post release.

Prosecutors said Kremer set his car on fire in an alley after a hit-and-run crash on November 16th, 2018.   He took a bicycle from the vehicle and rode down an alley, with nearby residents following him.   Kremer fired shots at the people, then he forced his way into a home at knifepoint in the 500 block of East Zimmerly.   After taking cellphones from the five people in the home, Kremer stole a car in the driveway.   He was caught after a high speed chase the next morning when the car crashed near 13th and Shadyway.

In September, Kremer pleaded guilty to 15 felony crimes including kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.  District Judge Seth Rundle ordered Kremer to register as a violent offender for 15 years for using a deadly weapon in the kidnappings, and he must register for life for the kidnappings.
