Sedgwick County Commissioner Michael O’Donnell is losing his lead in the race for the District 2 seat.
Ballots are still being counted and results are not expected to be finalized until next week. The Sedgwick County Election Office updated their numbers Thursday, showing O’Donnell now only has a 32 vote lead over Sarah Lopez.
Even if O’Donnell wins the election, he has said he’ll step down because of an ongoing investigation into his role in a false attack ad against Mayor Brandon Whipple.
Commissioner David Dennis also won reelection, and his lead is holding in District 3 as votes are tallied.
