Charges filed in shooting of Lyons police officer

The Kansas Attorney General’s office says a Lyons man has been charged with attempted capital murder in the shootings of a police officer and another man.

The charges were filed against 40-year-old Adam Hrabik for an incident that happened at his home on October 16th.   An officer was shot and wounded when he responded to a call of a dispute.  A 56-year-old man was also shot during the incident, and both men were taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.

Hrabik is also charged with aggravated assault.  The case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s office.

The injured officer, 36-year-old Cory Ryan, was to return to Lyons Wednesday afternoon after his treatment in Wichita.
