Sedgwick County Health Officer Signs Order Allowing Bars To Remain Open Until 1am

Sedgwick County Health Officer Dr. Garold Minns signed a local health order allow bars, restaurants, and nightclubs licensed to sell alcohol for on-site consumption to remain open until 1am.

The order goes into effect on October 22nd, and will remain in effect until December 9th.

Minns stressed that while he appreciates Sedgwick County residents’ vigilance, he stressed that it is crucial to remain cautious throughout the flu season.

Bars, nightclubs, and restaurants are able to operate at 50% of fire code capacity, and groups of 15 or more must be located at least 6 feet away from other groups. Masks are also still required.

Businesses may also continue curbside and carryout services past midnight.
