Sedgwick County has a few ways to help you get your kid’s back to school shots.
Because of the COVID outbreak, vaccinations are being done by appointment only, and masks will be required if you’re going to the main Sedgwick County Health Department office, at 2716 W. Central. Shots are being given using the following schedule, and you can call 660-7300 to make an appointment.
- Monday-Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday: noon to 6 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. to 4p.m.
The county is also offering vaccinations at the following sites, where mobile clinics will be set up. Appointments still need to be made for the mobile clinics by calling 660-7333.
- Clifton WIC Office, 1131 S. Clifton, Wichita, KS 67218, every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Main WIC Office, 1900 E. 9th St. N., Wichita, KS 67214, every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Bethel Life Center, 3777 S. Meridian Ave., Wichita, KS 67217, every Monday (Beginning September 14) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Evergreen Rec Center, 2700 N. Woodland St, Wichita, KS 67204, every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you plan on using either of these options to get get your kids vaccinated, you’re asked to bring the following items with you.
- Vaccination records(Please email your vaccination record to medrecordsrequest@sedgwick.gov or fax it to (316) 660-4916 at least 24 hours in advance).
- Health insurance card
- Parent/guardian ID
- Proof of income, if no health insurance
- Written letter of consent with parent ID, if parent is not going to bring child
- Court approved paperwork for child, if applicable
The cutoff date for kids to have their vaccines this year is October 15.
