The United Way of the Plains in Wichita is taking appointments for the next session of the Help Center.
The Help Center will provide help with food and utilities, budget and debt management counseling and other services for people who have been laid off or furloughed because of the coronavirus pandemic or the downturn in the aviation industry.
People can call the 211 information line to set up an appointment through Friday, August 21st. The hours for the appointments are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone who calls and meets requirements will receive an appointment for the session that begins August 31st. The center will be open each month as funds are available, and the center is being provided by Ascension Via Christi, with operational assistance from Catholic Charities.
Donations to the United Way’s Pandemic Fund can be made through www.unitedwayplains.org/pandemicfund or checks with “Pandemic Fund” in the memo line can be mailed to United Way of the Plains, 245 North Water St. Wichita, KS 67202.
