Wichita schools extend summer meal program

The Wichita Public Schools has extended the Summer Food Program until August 31st, because the start of the school year has been delayed to early September.

Under the program, any child 18 and under can get a free meal two times a week. The Wichita Public Schools Summer Food Program is available to any child, regardless if they attend USD 259 or are enrolled in a free or reduced lunch program.

Meals are available at 9 locations:

Coleman Middle School – 1544 N. Governeour Rd.

Curtis Middle School – 1031 S. Edgemoor St.

Hamilton Middle School – 1407 S. Broadway

Isely Traditional Magnet Elementary School – 5256 N. Woodlawn, Bel Aire

Jardine STEM and Career Explorations Academy – 3550 Ross Parkway

Mueller Aerospace and Engineering Discovery Magnet Elementary School – 2500 E. 18th St.

Pleasant Valley Middle School – 2220 W. 29th St. N

Truesdell Middle School – 2464 S. Glenn Ave.

Wilbur Middle School – 340 N. Tyler Rd.
