A 57-year-old woman was fatally injured in a crash Thursday evening, close to Hillside and 13th.
Wichita police were called to the area around 6:55 p.m., and found a woman pinned in her car. Firefighters helped get the woman out and she was taken to a hospital where she later passed away. The driver has been identified as Doris Johnson, of Wichita.
According to police, the woman appears to have lost control of her car while driving north on Hillside. She hit a curb, utility pole, and finally a fence. Police say they believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.
