Evergy extends suspension of disconnects through July 15

Evergy has announced that they will continue to suspend disconnection of service through July 15.

The Kansas Corporation Commission had earlier ordered utility companies to suspend shut offs for non-payment to May 31.  Evergy has also waived late fees and will be offering payment arrangements until December 31, which is in compliance with the order from the Kansas Corporation Commission.

Assistance is also available through the federal Low Income Energy Assistance Program through DCF.  The program covers a portion of energy bills to households that meet income requirements.
