Sedgwick County district court to resume operations on May 26th

Chief judge Jeffrey Goering has announced that the 18th Judicial District will reopen on Tuesday, May 26th.

Court hearings will be by appointment only and jury trials will not resume until further notice.

Entrance to court facilities will require screening for COVID-19.  People who pass the screening will be issued a face mask that will have to be worn at all times inside the building.  People who do not pass the screening will get a flyer with instructions on how to reschedule their hearing.

Traffic court is expected to resume on June 15th.

The public is encouraged to do business with the court by remote means, and more information is available at the district court’s web site at for instructions on how to remotely apply for a marriage license, protection orders, and how to sign up for parenting classes.
