The Butler County Sheriff’s Office says a man has died following a crash during severe weather this morning.
It happened on SW 180th and Indianola Road and the weather is believed to be at least partly to blame. The sheriff’s office says the 30-year-old man was driving in the area around 5 a.m. and crashed into a tree that had fallen into the roadway at full speed.
It’s believed heavy rain may have obscured his view and he did not have time to react. He died at the scene.
The man’s name has not been released.
