Sedgwick County officials have developed a plan for businesses and residents as the community begins a recovery process from the coronavirus pandemic.
County manager Tom Stolz said the plan was created with input from local business and industry leaders, and it includes best practices and guidelines for protecting employee and customer health and safety. He said the plan is on the county’s web site at www.sedgwickcounty.org and it includes Governor Kelly’s plan for reopening the Kansas economy.
Stolz said the county’s plan has recommendations and guidelines for businesses and individuals to consider, and he said it’s a fluid document that will be modified as the environment changes. He said businesses will have to make decisions on screening and requiring masks to be worn, and it will be up to the businesses to decide how to move forward. Stolz said the county is strongly recommending the use of masks.
Governor Kelly’s recovery plan is scheduled to move into Phase Two on Monday, May 18th, and more businesses will be allowed to reopen. Stolz said notification is expected by the end of the week from the governor’s office on the next phase.
