The man accused in the Sunday shooting death of 36-year-old Sarah Phillips has been formally charged.
27-year-old Isaac Pankratz is charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police were called Sunday morning to a home in the 4900 block of east Murdock after an unknown person placed a 911 call.
When they arrived they found Phillips dead inside of home from head trauma. Investigators soon identified Pankratz as a possible suspect.
He was taken into custody later that day at a home in the 2500 block of West Wildwood. At the time of his arrest he was allegedly armed with a sawed-off shotgun.
Police say Pankratz shot Phillips. Bond has been set at $200,000.
His next court hearing is scheduled for May 28.
