The Kansas Department of Corrections says a staff member at the El Dorado Correctional Facility has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The staff member is a male over the age of 30, but corrections officials have not released any further information. Health officials are working to find other staff members and inmates who may have had close contact with the patient.
This is the fifth KDOC facility with confirmed cases of COVID-19. Cases have also been identified at the Wichita Work Release Facility, the Lansing Correctional Facility, the Topeka Correctional Facility and the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex.
