The latest figures from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment show there are 4,449 cases of Covid-19 in Kansas.

That is an increase of 211 cases since Thursday.  One new death has also been reported, bringing the total to 130 since the outbreak first began in Kansas.

At last report, Sedgwick County had 402 cases, with 197 of them having fully recovered from the virus.  Harper County is now reporting its first confirmed case of Covid-19.

The rest of the counties surrounding Sedgwick remain unchanged since Thursday.  In western Kansas, Ford County is now reporting the second highest number of cases in the state with 702.

Seward County has 514, while Finney County has 386.  The state has been ramping up testing in those counties where much of the state’s meat processing takes place.

Wayandotte County still has the highest number cases with 710.  Johnson has 471 and Leavenworth 372.

Lyon County is at 210 cases.  Shawnee County is the only other Kansas county with over 100 cases with 121 reported today.

The recent increase in cases this week is believed to be due to the increase in testing that has been completed and doesn’t necessarily reflect a spike in new infections.
