The latest figures from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment show there are now 2,777 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kansas.

That is an increase of 295 new cases since Thursday.  The increase is likely due in part to the increased testing that has been completed and does not necessarily represent a spike of infections.

Ford County in western Kansas where the state has been focusing on increasing testing rates is showing 350 confirmed infections.  In Sedgwick County the state is reporting there are 323 cases, but that number will likely increase when the county releases their numbers later this afternoon.

144 people in Sedgwick County who have had Covid-19 have fully recovered.  Reno County now has 19 cases with 6 recoveries.

The rest of the counties surrounding Sedgwick are not reporting any new cases.

Wyandotte County is now reporting 520 cases, while Johnson is reporting 417.  Both counties have seen the largest number of cases so far in Kansas.

The state is now reporting 111 deaths, which is one less than reported on Thursday.  The state hasn’t specified why there was a change in the number of deaths, but it’s possible there was a miscount.
