The latest figures from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment show there are now 2,482 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kansas.
That is 271 new cases diagnosed since Wednesday afternoon. The increase is likely due to the increased testing the state has been able to conduct since receiving more equipment.
There are now 112 deaths reported statewide since the virus first appeared in Kansas. That is two additional deaths since Wednesday.
Sedgwick County has now surpassed 300 cases, with 314 now reported. That is 19 new cases confirmed since yesterday. The county says of those cases, 143 people are recovered.
Ford County is now reporting 288 cases, Johnson is at 403, and Wyandotte at 484. Johnson and Wyandotte County continue to be the counties most impacted by the virus.
In south-central Kansas, Reno County has 17 cases with 6 recoveries, Harvey 5, Butler 13. Cowley and Sumner County have no new cases.
